Rapid Development

Juliette never ceases to amaze me. From just Saturday evening when she figured out how to push herself to a standing position and then take a few shaky steps, she’s now confidently pushing herself up and taking several steps at a time. She’s even able to do it in her pyjamas, which are kind of slippery fleece material which cover her feet. No matter, she’s now able to stand and take several steps in those precarious foot coverings.

Her new trick today? Stamping her feet up and down as she’s standing, dancing to whatever music she hears. She does this both standing freely (on occasion) as well as hanging on to something to maintain her balance. For fun after dinner I took her hands and we had a great little dancing session together – she looked up at me in both amazement and surprise then burst into big smiles as we danced away.

In just 2 short days she’s gone from being just able to stand and take a few steps to being quite confident in her abilities. I am in awe.
