Two Front Teeth!
Over the past few weeks Juliette has been drooling what seems like litres of saliva, saturating 3-4 bibs per day. Up until last week, that is. For the past 4 or 5 days the drool production has slowed to an almost normal level.
We’ve been wondering if she’s teething for a while. She’s been very happy to chew on Becoming-A-Dad’s fingers and have me rub her gums when she’s not slobbering all overself and her Exersaucer (a few days ago she was leaving pools of drool on the upper ring – blech!). She’s been difficult, not sleeping well and being rather grumpy, so the indications have been there for a while.
So yesterday she was yelling and being grumpy while we were eating dinner, so I gave her a refrigerated teething ring that she likes. She grabbed it and immediately began gnawing away. After about 10 minutes she got fed up with it – perhaps it warmed up too much – and started to fuss again. After a few minutes of this she finally grabbed my hand and started to gnaw.
I felt a sharp-ish ridge on her lower right gum – definitely tooth-shaped, but barely above the gum surface. No other indications of teeth on the left or upper jaw.
This morning Becoming-A-Mom phoned me to say there are TWO little teeth poking through on her lower gum! She could feel them and then had a look – yep, definitely poking through the gums.
The excitement continues!
