Hugs and Kisses

Okay, perhaps I’m reading too much into this. But baby Juliette has changed again.

When I used to pick her up, she used to keep her arms at her sides and kind of balance herself with me holding her up under her butt and my other arm around her back and neck to make sure she didn’t jump backwards or wiggle out of my hold. I’d have to pick up her hands and put them up on my shoulders, and sometimes she’d grab onto my shirt to hang on. Most of the time she’d let her arms fall back to her sides or flap them about in excitement.

As of last week she’s started to put her arms up on my shoulders and neck on her own, holding on to my shirt (or face, depending on her aim). She has started to pull herself in and a couple of times has rested her head on my shoulder, giving me a drooly smack on the shoulder or neck that I’ll take as a kiss.

Kinda sappy post I know. *sigh* That’s what happens when you have a baby. All that tough-guy crap gets soggy with baby tears, spit and pee.
