3 Months Old!

Juliette turned 3 months old yesterday. Congratulations baby Peach, you’re 1/4 of a year old!

In the 10 days since my last post, she’s really changed a lot. Physically she continues to grow and grow. She’s now definitely the largest baby of her peer group from the prenatal class – even babies older than her weigh less and are less solid in the body. Another little baby boy who was born 8 minutes before her looks to be a month younger – much smaller, with less hair and muscle tone. And a baby girl who was born about 2 weeks before Juliette has the same big cheeks but not the same body mass or thighs.

It’s funny to look at her legs – she’s got turkey thighs! So big that she can’t fit some of the 3-month size outfits she has. She’s kind of worrying me at how big she is already.

And mentally she continues to develop. She’s gotten to the point where she no longer is satisfied lying on her play mat looking at the toys hanging from it. She gets bored and then cries for attention, so we have to pick her up and find other ways to keep her entertained.

Today she got really angry when Becoming A Mom tried to put her in her crib for a nap in the afternoon. She cried and cried for 15 minutes, getting really red in the face with anger. Even after Mom picked her up, she continued to vent her anger for a few minutes before calming down.

Becoming A Mom decided to take her outside for a walk – exactly what baby Peach wanted. She laughed and did a little happy dance in her stroller when she saw trees, and was alert and peaceful during a visit to a mall. She’s getting to be a little more demanding on us – something that really makes me worried!
