One Week Later

It’s almost exactly one week since Peach was born. In fact as I write this at 21:55 I note that she was born at 20:06 a mere 7 days ago. I am now one week post Becoming A Dad.

She’s a healthy and robust little baby girl, with a strong pair of lungs and big appetite. And more or less she’s been easy-going, except for a few memorable occasions where this double-handful of humanity brought two adults to their knees in fatigue and frustration.

Before she arrived I thought I’d be able to continue putting put blog posts daily – at very least daily – with a few pics of things that happened along the way. I mean, how long does it take to post a short blog article? 30 mins at the outside? Perhaps an hour if you take into account the photo editing etc. Who couldn’t spend a few minutes each day to post some thoughts on their baby?

Time to think again. Unless you’re one of the rare and lucky ones, you’re not going to have *any* spare time during the first few weeks of your baby’s life. I’ve been lucky enough to catch some sleep and make some pretty sparse notes on what happened in a notebook, but otherwise me and Mom have been either feeding, cooking, cleaning, soothing, diapering, preparing, and on rare happy moments sleeping. Even with Mom’s parents here helping out a bit, we’ve had almost no time to do anything.

So until I get a breather and things settle down a bit, I won’t be posting much. But once I get time, man, do I have some stories and revelations to share.

If you’re thinking about becoming a dad, have I got a few eye-openers coming!
