Good News
Well today she got the results from her second glucose tolerance testing, and it’s negative for gestational diabetes. Yay! It would have meant a very strict meal plan to control her blood sugars and since she’s got a problem complying when she’s told she can’t eat or do something, this is good. It was funny because last night she was eating chocolates “because I might not be able to eat them tomorrow!”
I ran into my other colleague who’s pregnant at work today. She’s due two weeks after us and she’s definitely big too. Not quite as big as Ms. Pregnant but pretty darned close. She was telling me how she plays classical music to her belly and she can feel the baby dancing around inside.
We haven’t been doing much like that yet. She tried a set of Baby Einstein CDs but found the music so tinny and irritating she played them only a couple of times before giving up. Now she’s read that the baby can hear and will recognise voices, so she’s planning on getting some French books to read to the little tyke. I talk to little Peach through her belly too – telling her about how her mom is misbehaving and other silly things. I’ve also tried making noises next to her belly to see how Peach responds. So far not too much response, though once I did get a pretty solid kick after I made some fart noises above her belly.
And I found out that my other co-worker who’s wife is pregnant is due the week after us. I had thought they were due a month after… which means if all times are correct, there will be three new babies in the span of 3 weeks! Bloody hell!
