Becoming A Dad
Today another friend dropped off some items that they no longer need. We now have a little vibrating cradle, a baby car-seat mirror (so you can see what your kid’s doing when they’re in one of those rear-facing car seats), and a nifty little baby changing table that clips onto the top rails of the crib then swings out of the way when you’re finished. Neat!
I’ve noticed that I’m becoming more comfortable of the idea of baby Peach arriving and generally wreaking havoc in our lives. For the longest while I was still in denial, refusing to really think about what’s coming or want to buy baby supplies. Perhaps a result of my conversations in the last weeks with my colleagues and friends who have children I’m becoming a little less resistant to the discussion. Or perhaps it’s just a tired resignation to the obvious that’s hit. Either way I am more willing to discuss things like buying a crib, reviewing Becoming-A-Mom’s list of things we need, buying diapers (agh!) and other baby-related things. Heck, I even helped her put the cradle swing thing together!
I draw the line at being happy about putting up Christmas decorations however.
