The Belly Band
When I got in today she was proudly modelling her new set of jeans she found at a maternity store. The jeans looked normal but instead of having a normal zipper and button at the waist instead has a stretchy lycra tube that can be pulled up. The idea is that the tube will expand as she does and still allow her to wear jeans.
What ever happened the good old days of pregnant women wearing those big billowy tents and hiding indoors? (Oh, that funny noise you heard was me being smacked in the side of the head.)
The other cool thing she got was a Belly Band – just a tube of stretchy lycra-like stuff that she is supposed to wear over her existing jeans and pants. She leaves her pants unzipped and unbuttoned and uses the band to hold it up.
Interesting innovations. Meanwhile I find myself wondering why there are no similar pants out there just for overweight men. Might be a hit – and would be a hell of a lot nicer than looking at hairy guys with plumber-butt.
