Week Six

2008 July 11

I’ve been away for work for a few days so I haven’t seen her in a bit. I’m dazed, having spent the last 12 hours on planes and it’s only 11 am here. I take a nap for a few hours and then force myself to get up and pretend to be human for a while.

She’s at work, so I go to pick her up. The first thing I notice is that she looks different. Can’t quite figure it out, but she seems thinner or something. Her face and neck and waist seem thinner anyhow. It’s not until she gets out of the car and back in the house that I figure out why. Her breasts are huge! They’ve filled out and now she has an even fuller busom than before – like someone’s taken a bicycle pump and topped up the pressure.

She’s not thrilled by this. And definitely not enjoying me teasing her about it.

She tells me that she’s now at 6 weeks – but that number doesn’t add up as it isn’t 6 weeks since her ovulation period. She explains that the weeks are measured from the end of her last period, not conception. Makes no sense to me. Must be a chick thing.

She shows me her book on what to expect… so far the little smurf is about a quarter of an inch long and the organs are starting to take shape.
