Sensitive Parts and Sensitive Issues

2008 July 12

She’s still in bed and then suddenly gets up and goes to the computer. She’s sitting there impatiently waiting for her brother to get on the webcam and show her the new nephew (3 months old). I pity the poor guy – it’s not even her baby and she’s demanding to see him and talk to him.

She’s definitely slowing down. Normally she’s the one trying to drag me away from the computer and go out for a walk or something, but she’s the one lying on the couch reading or half-dozing.

She’s also complaining of nausea now, but hasn’t barfed yet. She finds that eating something helps the feeling go away.

I can’t help notice that her belly seems to be rounder. Not hugely so, but where it was a little round before it now seems fuller, and the little roll of fat she had seems to have smoothed out into the whole belly. It feels fuller too. I read that her uterus has grown from about the size of a fist to the size of a large grapefruit. I wonder if that’s a white grapefruit or ruby.

The funny part is watching her turn over in bed or change her top. Her tits continue to be extra-sensitive, and she’s stopped wearing her nightie as the material is uncomfortable on them. She’s extra careful in taking off and putting on her shirts, and when she turns over in the bed she carefully raises herself up on her arms with her boobs free of contact with the sheets before rotating and slowly lowering herself down. She did this a couple of times in her sleep last night and I thought she was awake, but no, she was still asleep and doing this anyway.

Oh man, the other part is that her digestive system is *ahem* adjusting. Could be the 3 pounds of cherries she ate in the last 2 days, but she’s having gas. LOTS of it. And smelly! Sheesh, it’s enough to make me worried that others are going to think it’s me!

And part and parcel with that is she’s now definitely having cravings/food aversions. Certain smells or even thoughts about food turn her off, yet then she’s talking about eating some other goodies. We laugh a bit about it.

We go shopping and get another pregnancy tester, among other things. I still want a photo of it.
